Part of the premium you pay is a syndicate tax. This tax is paid by all of the insurance companies to the ‘Consorcio de Compensacion de Seguros’. The consortium covers extraordinary events such as:

• Earthquakes
• Extraordinary flooding
• Volcanic eruption
• Cyclones
• Damage by objects from space or meteorites
• Terrorism, rebellion, riot or uprising
• Action of the Armed Forces or Security Forces in peacetime
• Subsidence
